Monthly Update from the Executive Editor
Spring is a season of renewal—a time when the world stretches toward the light, and even the smallest shift can lead to something extraordinary.
This debut issue of Mulberry Collective embraces that spirit of change—not just in the stories we share, but in the foundation of our publication itself.
When we first introduced an editorial space within dosyna COLLECTIVE, our goal was simple: to create a place where stories inspire, connect, and deepen our understanding of one another. What I didn’t anticipate was how deeply this idea would resonate. Writers, readers, and creatives from all walks of life found a home here. The momentum was undeniable, and soon, it became clear—this was more than an editorial section. It was something entirely its own.
And so, Mulberry Collective, Inc. was born.
Why Mulberry? Why a Nonprofit?
The mulberry tree, with its deep roots and ever-reaching branches, has long symbolized wisdom, endurance, and transformation—qualities that reflect the very essence of storytelling. It nourishes, shelters, and thrives through the seasons, much like the stories we share.
Becoming a nonprofit was a natural step in our mission to champion voices, amplify emerging writers, and provide a home for stories—personal and profound. More than just a literary platform, Mulberry Collective is a platform for change, using storytelling as a force for empowerment, education, and transformation. We believe words don’t just inspire— they have the power to challenge perspectives, and foster lifelong learning.
Through mentorship programs, editorial guidance, book donations, and creative writing workshops, we’re committed to building a community where storytelling and learning go hand in hand. Because when we empower voices, we don’t just tell stories—we forge connections, and inspire lasting change.
Welcome to Mulberry Collective’s first chapter—and to all the stories yet to come!
Until next time, keep creating,
Dalene
